Diabetes mellitus

• Possible breed predisposition
• Usual age range: 4 to 14 years; peak incidence: 7 to 9 years
• Old entire females are predisposed

Musculoskeletal conditions

Hip dysplasia

• This breed has the twentieth worst breed mean score in the BVA/KC Hip Dysplasia Scheme as of October 2001
• Breed mean score 17

Ocular conditions

Cataract

• Inheritance suspected

Multifocal retinal dysplasia

• Congenital condition; autosomal recessive inheritance suspected

Micropapilla

• Congenital condition
